Smith Family Dinner Theater
Packs a One-Two Punch
A high-quality live music show is a great thing all by itself, but when you add a fabulous feast to two hours of tasty tunes, the result is an unforgettable night of entertainment that really packs a one-two punch. And that’s exactly what’s in store for guests of the Smith Family Dinner Theater in Pigeon Forge.
This marks the second season that Charlie, Jim and Charlie Bob Smith have offered their fans both dinner and a show at their music theater, and based on the attendance the show received in ’09, it’s safe to say the combination is going to be a knockout again in 2010. In fact, the theater has added a balcony to the theater and expanded its lobby to better accommodate the crowds this season.
“We are so excited to continue offering our many returning guests and newcomers great Southern dining to go along with our show,” says Charlie Bob Smith. “We had discovered that having dinner with a show is what Pigeon Forge visitors were looking for, and we have been happy to be able to provide that experience.”
The 400-seat theater was also remodeled in 2009 to accommodate the new dinner format, utilizing state-of-the art facilities to deliver a satisfying dining experience and an uplifting, entertaining show in comfort and style.
Since 2004, the theater, located at 2330 Parkway, has been treating visitors to a stage show heavily steeped in Southern music and culture. For two hours each performance, the Smiths charm their audiences with their unique brand of music and comedy in an intimate, familial style. Their eclectic blend of country, bluegrass, gospel, oldies rock-n-roll, clean family comedy and trademark repertoire of impressions have helped make their show one of the staples of the music theater community.
And since last year, that experience has been complemented by a mouthwatering Southern-style buffet. Generous portions of Southern favorites like fried chicken, pot roast, farm-fresh vegetables and homemade desserts ensure that no guest leaves hungry.
The Smiths’ production has five times been named Best Show in Pigeon Forge. They have been a favorite among Smoky Mountain visitors and locals alike since the 1980s, building a loyal following thanks to their musical talent and sense humor.
“This year, we’ll still do all the popular things our audiences like, but we’ll throw in some surprises that we’re looking forward to doing,” says Charlie Bob. “But it will still be the Smith boys doing what everybody knows we can do, and we’ll always have fun, no matter what.”
In addition to the Smith Family show, the theater hosts several other great acts and shows. Country music legend T.G. Sheppard presents a special dinner show on select Sundays throughout the year, featuring a variety of musical styles, including country, gospel and Big Band. Also, the Blast From The Past show—featuring Matt Cordell as Elvis—takes audiences on a nostalgic trip back to the 1950s. Blast From The Past presents a non-dinner show at 2 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Tickets to the Smith Family Dinner Theater are $37.95 plus tax for adults and $35.95 plus tax for seniors.
