Valentines In The Smokies - Smoky Mountain Valentines Experience

Valentines In The Smokies – An unforgettable experience

By the second week of February we are well into the New Year and it is time to stop, reflect and take a Break! And there is no better place to recharge and refresh than the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. Enjoy Valentines day relaxing in a mountain cabin, relax by the indoor pool and a local hotel, fix a late breakfast in a well-appointed condo, or you can play and have fun! Whatever you need you will find it in the Smokies. Let’s start with chilling-out.

The Great Smoky Mountains provide the most beautiful and serene background for any type of get-a-way, but they are perfect for a romantic escape. During the winter, and especially in February, the chances of snow on the mountains is extremely good. The higher altitudes attract snow like honey attracts bees, so your view will include white-tipped mountain peaks that add to the visual splendor of the Smoky Mountains. If you choose to do a little hiking – not too strenuous you know as this is a chilling time – you will also experience the silence of the snow-covered trees in the mountains. The only sounds you will hear are the crunching of your feet against the frozen or snow-covered earth or an occasional ‘thump’ as a clump of snow drops to the ground from a tree limb. After the walk, return to your accommodation, jump in the hot tub, take a swim, and then enjoy a hot beverage in front of the fire. Ahhhh, chillin’!

For those looking for fun and activities, there are endless options. Indoors you can play and learn at WonderWorks, or go after on a quest for gold at MagiQuest. See the stars at Hollywood Wax Museum and Explore and dig into crime at Alcatraz East. For heart-pumping fun challenge yourself at the two area trampoline and Ninja Warrior parks, Sevier Air and TopJump. Outside you can play mini-golf, drive go-karts, fly along Ziplines, ride helicopters, go 4-wheeling and ride the Alpine Coasters! And if you need some time to sit, catch one of the live shows in town. They feature comedy, country music, Motown, Hit Music, magic and illusions and beautiful music and dancing of all varieties.

Plan to come to the mountains early or stay through the weekend because there is a lot to see and do. There are also many unique and outlet shopping locations and wonderful local and themed restaurants to keep you energized or get you mellowed out for relaxing on your porch, in your room, watching the grandkids or falling asleep listening to the peaceful sounds of the mountains. Come and experience it for yourself!
